Bradford and the Journey to the Desert of Lop

Written by Dawn Van Zant
Illustrated by Alexander Levitas
ISBN: 0-9761768-2-3

This Inspiring children's book is based on a young boy Brad Lawless, a 9 year old
boy that had battled Ewings Sarcoma for 3 years and had a love for wild camels. He
sent his dream on a journey to the wilds of the Gobi desert to find and befriend the
real life explorer, John Hare, founder of the Wild Camel Protection Foundation. The
complete strangers, connected only by an interest in the unique endangered wild
camels, have united to send a message of hope and courage, as strong as the winds of
the Gobi. There are approximately 350 wild Bactrian camels in the Mongolian Great
Gobi Reserve, south of Bayan Toroi and approximately 650 additional camels further
south in Xinjiang province, China, living in three isolated and separated pockets.
The wild Bactrian camel is an amazing creature that lives in one of the World's
harshest environments and in some areas in the absence of fresh water, has adapted
to drinking salt-water slush, which no other mammal can tolerate. Research has shown
that these wild camels although surrounded by nuclear radiation, are immune to
cancer genes which makes them a possibility for a cure for cancer in future
research, which is why the preservation of these wild camels is so important.

to protect the critically endangered wild Bactrian camel (Camelus bactrianus ferus)
and its habitat in the fragile and unique desert ecosystems in the Gobi and Gashun
Gobi deserts in Northwest China and South West Mongolia.

I Sea Horses, From Sky to Sea

Written by: Dawn Van Zant
Illustrated by: Callan Van Zant
ISBN: 0-9761768-0-7

From the mother/daughter creators of Wild Heart Ranch comes this tale of how a herd
of wild horses followed the light from a Star and entered the aquatic realm to
become the first seahorses. Pegasus, the leader of the herd, has had a bad dream - a
vision in which his beloved herd will no longer be free to roam the land unfettered
by fences and without human riders. Acting on instinct, and in response to his
dream, he leads his band of mares towards a new home - a home under the waves!
There, the seahorses meet their Lucky Star, Marina, who offers a light to guide them
in the dark waters.
The 'I Sea Horses' story is designed to inspire young children to follow their
dreams, and move beyond their fears into uncharted territory.
